teechart editor not available

After installing TeeChartNET2009VSNET2008.exe, when I start a project in Visual Studio 2008, add the TeeChart Pro reference, add a TChart control to my form, and then right click, I do not get the “Edit” option. How do I get this to show up? Also, what are all of the references I need to add for the full functionality of teecharts?

Hi ccc,

Can you please check that you haven't added TeeChartX.ocx corresponding to TeeChart Pro ActiveX instead of TeeChart.dll corresponding to TeeChart for .NET?

Hi ccc,

I recommend you to identify in the Visual Studio 2008 Toolbox where are the TeeChart for .NET components and where are the TeeChart ActiveX components and assign to them an easy to identify Tab name.
To identify which component is .NET and which one is ActiveX you can see the information that appears when you stop the mouse a few seconds over each icon in the Toolbox.
Another way to identify the components would be adding them to a form and see what references are automatically added in the solution reference list.

I see that TeeChart.dll is installed under 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart for .NET 2009'. I cannot find TeeChartX.ocx on my hard drive when I do a search.

I can verify that I have install the TeeChart for .NET and not the ActiveX component. If it makes a difference, I am on a 64-bit machine

I also did exactly the same thing this week and the Edit option never appears.

I'm in the same boat, except I am still running Win XP 32bit. I installed .NET 2009 alongside the previous v3.5 so I could use both of them.
